Hi, I'm in my final year of university and I have come across this question a few times in past papers. Its worth 9 marks. Could anyone help me out? The question is below.....

Some databases storage systems make use of non-first-normal-form data structures. Explain what this means using Google's BigTable as an example.
What practical effect has this had on the design of their systems?
