To give a little more color to the idiom, it means that the two events are immediately right after each other. There is no overlap between the two events. And there is no gaps between the two events. Finishing up one interview immediately starts the next interview.

Of course, it is only a language idiom (and not a rule), so nothing says that you can't take a bathroom break between the two interviews...
