Hello,

I am making a web project which has different modules like students, enquiry, employees , courses etc.

Now, I want whenever i create a new employee, student or enquiry, a unique id would get generate automatically for that bean in its corresponding module.

So, what would be the beat approch for generating this id's??

Fast response with a good example would be highly appreciated ......

Sort the ids in the database in ascending order. Select the last id and generate the next id using it..

Surely you would allow the database to create all the IDs.

The same way you do it in any database. With AUTOINCREMENT. In MySQL you can incorporate AUTOINCREMENT in a predefined data type, I think called SERIAL.
