Hi all,

Presently I am working in a middle tier organization (CMMI Level: 3). I am a Java resource (mostly working in Core Java and JEE), came across "Play Framework" for a new development project in my organization. But I am not sure whether learning this is going to help me in cracking interviews in other organization since I am planning to switch very soon rather than late.

Where ever I search for some job for a Java resource, the requirement is either Spring or Struts framework, very rarely see JSF framework. Hence I eager to know whether this framework has got some opportunities in Indian IT industry?

Kindly let me know about this.

Regards.

I use Play for a few of my projects, and there's a lot I really like about it. But it's not a big player (no pun intended) compared to the Struts and Spring frameworks. So if it's employability you are after, I'd make sure that you know both of those first. Then adding another like Play shows versatility and a willingness to learn new things.

Agree with Bear. Nothing is stopping you from fiddling with the other two web frameworks via your self-taught projects, whilst working on the Play framework.

Alternatively, if you are planning to move on, pick your next role based on popular technologies/frameworks and other factors discussed here http://java-success.blogspot.com.au/2007/10/how-to-choose-from-multiple-javaj2ee.html
