Without knowing your full requirements it's hard to give a precise answer.
What I would say is if there was an open source package available that did everything I required, I certainly wouldn't write my own version.

I didn't say there was an open source package available, I said I'd use one if there was one which was in answer to your question about whether we would write our own or use an open source one.
You haven't given anywhere near enough information about what you want to do for anyone to be able to recommend a particular product. You need to write down your requirements in full and then google for suitable products.
