We're holding a contest in this forum (
Blog around the Campfire). It's different from our book promotions, so read carefully!
The prize
We will feature one blogger and blog post in our
JavaRanch Journal. The Journal is published "whenever we feel like it", but we expect the winner to be in one within the next few months. The Journal gets emailed to over 150K developers, announced in the Ranch Office forum and posted on the wiki. It's a nice prize for a contest that doesn't cost any money to enter
How do I enter
Post a few sentences about your blog post and a link to the blog post in a new
thread in this forum (
Blog around the Campfire). Each person can enter multiple blog posts - just start a new thread for each one. Or if you don't have a blog, you can post what you would write in a blog post in a new thread in this forum.
How do I vote to indicate I like a blog post
Click the +1 button for the thread announcing blog posts you like. You are also welcome to reply to the thread as well and discuss.
When does the contest end?
We think it is going to end on June 23rd. We've never done this before so reserve the right to extend it another week depending on how things are going.
How does the winning post get selected?
A panel of three CodeRanch Staff moderators will select their favorite post. We will be reading the top X threads that got the most votes. So remember to vote, send your friends to vote, link to the thread announcing your blog post from your blog, say how awesome CodeRanch is, whatever

. We're not sure what our policy is on commercial blog posts. They won't win and might get moved to our Blatant Advertising forum.
Any other rules?
CodeRanch staff are not eligible to win. We reserve the right to delete any threads that don't meet the standards for this site. Just like we always do.
