Today I got an email from Oracle saying I passed :

"Congratulations! You have passed the Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect certification. You are among the elite 1% of certified Java professionals who have gone on to achieve the Java Enterprise Architect certification"

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Java Ranchers for your support. Over the years community has amassed a lot of information on Java Ranch which helped me a lot for this certification.

Now its my turn to give back, I have blogged my experience in my personal blog.

Hi Anu,
I am planning to take a course in next two months. I am still deciding what course to take. Every course looks costly...:-). Course on JPA seems to be the cheapest one.

I have a couple if quick questions to ask you regarding the process itself:

Where you permitted to sit the exams / complete the assignments et al, without taking a course first?

Is there a grace period whereby Oracle permit certification prior to sitting a course?

Thanks Kal. Yes you can take assignment without taking course. Course can be taken at any stage in SCEA but to get a SCEA certificate from Oracle you will have to complete the course as well along with other three steps. There is no time restriction for course.

I got the result 8 days after I gave essay exam.
