Is there any simple java API http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=keyword like using which we can get posts from social networking websites for a particular keyword.I was doing this for my sample application using this URL l but it has stopped working now days. Is there any similar api for which we can create java REST client easily for networking sites (like twitter,Facebook, or any).

Thanks.

If you open the URL you provided in a browser, you get
{"errors": [{"message": "The Twitter REST API v1 is no longer active. Please migrate to API v1.1. https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/overview.", "code": 68}]}

Did you check out v1.1?

Why not use a library like Twitter4J?

As I understand it Twitter revoked anonymous public access to their API's because they were getting hammered with every Tom, Dick, and Harry using it for demo applications. You can still access the API but I think you need to provide your login details now or register for it or something.

Never used Twitter4J so can't comment on that.
