Hi

We need to develop a product which reply the customer sms automatically via SMS . I done this with SMSLIB . it is working fine . but issue is response time when lot of sms reach to application at same time . it is taking 3-4 minutes to reply . so we thought of using
bulk sms service for replying the message as it would be faster . but we don't want to use third party service and want to develop our own bulk sms gateway .
What all required to develop own bulk sms gateway ? what technology or things used to developed own bulk sms gateway ?

I'm curious how you used smslib to send SMS if you didn't have a gateway so far - did you connect it to a device or modem directly?

The first question would be, why do you want to develop your own instead of using a readily available product? Do you already have a business relationship to a carrier through which you could send SMS?

yeah we have connected direct to modem . Using modem you can send sms . but problem is we can't use multiple modem so that multiple sms can be sent parallel .
if we use third party , it involve some security concern . so better to have own gateway

What kind of security concern? How would developing your own gateway not face the very same concerns, whatever they are?

If we are making a product and we have used some third party sms gatway ....it's like assembling of car using different parts . security concern regarding data which would sent by customer and data which we will send to customer. we would be exposing the data to other third party

The use of hosted 3rd party APIs is extremely common throughout the industry. I don't see how a properly designed NDA wouldn't take care of it, just like you would have with your hosting center (unless you signed up with some unreputable fly-by-night service). And anyway, all you'd be sharing is the mobile number and the message text, right? Which you would also be sharing with whatever network carrier you hook up your own gateway to. So - someone can always get at that, although they would be breaking the NDA and the law.

yes that's correct . network service provider also can do that but there are little chances as compare to 3rd party api provider . but anyway I think at last we have to use that one only .
as we were new in market and developing our first product so little bit curious about security . thanks for your suggestion. can you suggest any trust bulk sms service provider.

No idea. But if you search these forums, and the internet at large, for "bulk sms gateway" or some such phrase you're bound to find many, along with opinions on them.
