Hi,
I'm currently running Log4J (log4j-1.2.6.jar) on an application which works fine in both Solaris and Win env.
My other staff however are having some problem displaying the classname and line number in her code. This is a totally separate application with drastically different env and tools used for compilation. She uses 9IJDeveloper & TomCat 4.1.12.
A healhty log output would like:
<Date> ERROR (MyClassName.java: 100) - Some message
But what she's got is: -
<Date> ERROR (?:?) - Some message

Any hint would be much appreciated.

The class files were probably not compiled with the -g flag, which instructs the compiler to include the line numbers. Have them change that option in their IDE and see if that fixes it.

Nah, it is still not working. I've tried that before I posted this question.
Actually, without the '-g' option, on my IDE (TogetherSoft), the log still works properly. Her env is just wierd. Any other ideas, please?
