Hi,

I am Java 5 certified.
Is it advisable to skip Java 6 certification and do Java 7 certification ?

Does a Java 6 certification provide much value when you are already Java 5 certified ?
Are there major features released in Java 6 ?

If you are in hurry and looking easiest path, write ocjp 6 exam. But if you have enough time and ready for struggle then write ocjp 7 exam.

But as you have already ocjp 5 certification, so go for ocjp 7 upgrade exam.

If you are currently SCJP5, skip 6 and go for 7. There are not much difference between v6 and v5 except v6 covers some new APIs, everything else is the same. v7 on the other hand is practically a revamp = v7 new features, additional topics (JDBC, NIO, design patterns) among other things.
