Hi ,

I am new to the Servlets and its usage using AJAX.

In our application we are calling an servlet for changing accounts by passing member group id (which is unique) and some string and we development , stage and production environments.

In stage and production we have clustered environments.

Now the issue is , this servlet is getting invoked properly in the development environment for the all the accounts, but in stage only for few accounts servlet is not getting invoked.

I used the Fiddler tool analyze whether the servlet is getting invoked or not and i found that servlet is not getting invoked for the few accounts.

please find below code for the same.

var servletURL = "UserServlet?memberGroupId="+mbrGrpID1+"&userId="+userId+"&patientId="+patientId1+"&userContextAction=";

xhr_getSchemas = getXMLHttpRequest();
xhr_getSchemas.onreadystatechange = callBackHandler;
xhr_getSchemas.open("GET", AJAX_SERVLET + "/" + servletURL, true);
xhr_getSchemas.setRequestHeader ("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
xhr_getSchemas.send('');

Please help me out in understanding the issue ?

Open the JavaScript debugger in the browser and observe the behavior when it is working, and when it is not. What's the difference? Is a request even being generated from the browser?

I cannot think of it when you say servlet is not invoked for few account Ids. Its like the servlet behavior is based on the input it receives.
Without looking at the server logs, it would be difficult to comment, as I have never heard of anything like this before.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
