I am still a LINUX newbie, but trying to make the switch. I keep getting this error when trying to save StarOffice documents: "StarOffice Error:
Error saving the document Untitled 1: Write error.
The file could not be written." Is this a permissions problem? Or were the local directories, maybe, not set up correctly upon installation?

Hi,
I know some StarOffice, and enough (very little) Linux to know that it could be your video card, even. ;> But yeah, check your permissions, check where it's being saved to. If you're on a network, check Tools > Options > StarOffice > Paths.
You might also try downloading 1.0.2 of OpenOffice.org, or searching the archives of the users mailing list on that site for that error message.
Good luck,
Solveig
