I get the error:

That path looks very strange. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with 64-bit Java (6 and7 jdks) installed. Previous Eclipse installations (also Juno SR2) run fine, so I tried using their .ini files but then I get:

I had considered that it could be a bad download so I re-downloaded it and I get the same result. Maybe I should try from another mirror actually ... I'll do that now. But I'll bet that's not the issue.

Anybody have an idea how I can tackle this?

Have you tried to install Kepler and see if the error persists?

I've tried unzipping with both 7-zip and WinZip to my user directory as well as my 'Eclipse Installs' directory which contains my other working installations. I am using win-32 versions for both the working and not working versions.

The most recent download from the US site has the same issue for me. At lunch I will scan my hard-drive for errors.

The scan can't be performed until I reboot my machine and that's not an option now as I am approaching release time. Any other advice?

Nothing other than the obvious.

Try the 64 bit instead

I remember reading some blog or something which had the compatibility matrix, co relating OS JDK and Eclipse bit version. Maybe that is what's causing problems for you

I can't believe that worked Maneesh, but it did. Thank you!

You are Welcome.
Now maybe someone will drop in and explain why 32 bit version didn't work on 64 bit. I can understand why the other way round won't work, but not this.

Yes, that's a new situation for me too as I have 32-bit version running just fine that I installed about two months ago.

I didn't say it. I'm just telling you what this tiny ad said.
