I thought we could all learn a bit more about OO if we all shared the Features/Functionality about OO we liked the most.
For me one big item is the Export to .pdf. I like standards and .pdf is one I use a lot. This saves me lots of time. The ability to send (via e-mail) as .pdf attachment is really nice.
I also like the Auto Pilot(wizard) features. It is a nice way to have your organization follow the same flow when working with documents.

Very Nice this saving as Adobe PDF file, this feature isn't avaibable on any MS Office suite yet. I always wanted to create those pdf files. Because they are better for reading on a computer and so on.
Thanks, I devenitly need OOo I know now.

Hi Sal,
You're using the developer version! Good for you. (The PDF export isn't in the regular version yet, or at least they're talking as if it's not.)
I particularly like Draw. Open a new Draw document, and click on that cube icon on the toolbar down the left side. Long click it so the 3D little toolbar shows up. Then draw 3D stuff. Then click on an object once, then twice to get the red handles, and rotate the 3D that way. You can do some amazing stuff. Esp since you can make the shapes intersect as shown on www.getopenoffice.org
You can also convert text to 3D. Use the text tool to draw a text frame and type. Then click offit and back on, right click on the text frame, and choose Convert > to 3D. Resize the converted text, apply colors, or apply bitmaps. You can rotate the text the same way as with the 3D objects.
Then click on the tool at the side for Connectors. You've got Visio connector tools right there. Very modifiable. They're great.
Those are my particular favorites, within Draw.

Seriously? That's what you're going with? I prefer this tiny ad:
Java file APIs (DOC, XLS, PDF, and many more)
