I am going to be writing an article for the Javaranch newsletter on Velocity. Instead of basing it on what I think is the most appropriate usage, I want to base it on what people are really using it for. If you are using Velocity, please post how you are using it so that I have a better idea on which direction to go with the article.
I have also opened this up to include WebMacro.

I've looked at it, a while ago. And I've discussed the template-system with a webdesigner. His opinion was that it was too difficult for a designer to use. You need to have at least some programming knowledge and that's the problem. Most designers knowledge include html but not beyond html.
I hope you have something you can use from this post.

Please also bear in mind that any article on Velocity should also mention the very similar WebMacro ( http://www.webmacro.org/ ). Just because Velocity has the Apache "brand", does not automatically make it a better product!
If you are looking for real uses, you should ask the WebMacro guys, too.

I have been trying to access the WebMacro site for a week with no success. I was just able to get through, so lets open this up a little and include WebMacro. Which article would you, the readers, rather see?
