Hi all!

Is it some way for a JEE web-based application to dynamically create new app users with container-managed logic, or should I programmatically create them (i.e: create some class that represents the user, and interact with the database using, for example, JPA)?

Thanks in advance!!

When you say "container managed logic" do you mean realms? If yes then the only thing it would help you in is authentication. I do not think you can leverage it to create new user accounts.
You will have to code for the account creation yourself and delegate the authentication to the container.

Following with this, for the creation of new accounts, how can I get the algorithm and the key used by glassfish's jdbc realm to cypher (not hash) the user's passwords on the DB? If I don't have them, I obviously can't create new accounts
