Hello everyboy,

My name is Jerome. I started to work as an Websphere administrator some time ago and to better understand the whole system, I think I need to have a better understanding regarding web applications.
My co-worker told me to try to create a simple application which can be deployed afterwards. He also gave me a link for a sample application (http://geronimo.apache.org/GMOxDOC30/samples.html)

So good so far. I included the SVN repository in my Rational application developer, but I really don't know how to build an EAR file from all the files in the SVN...

could anybody give me some tipps please ? or a documentation about how to build EAR files ?

Would really appreciate your help.

Thanks a lot

regards,
Jerome

You might need a development environment. There are several possibilities.

JDK + ant or maven and/or some IDE like Netbeans or Eclipse.

For this example"converter-javaee6 - A simple JSF+Ajax aplication" maven is needed as a bulid tool.

The least effort would either be JDK + maven to use the pom.xml shipped with the example (if it is a buidl.xml, you need ant instead of maven)
or the IDE could "slurp in" the whole project and manage building.

I personally would recommend the road #1 first.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
