hello. i am a fresher. i was planning to give the ocp jp 6 exam. but i just came to know that there is a ocp jp 7 version. can i still give the ocp jp 6 version? will i still get a valid certification if i pass the ocp jp 6 exam in sept 2013? please help me

Yes, you will have a valid certification. The certification doesn't expire. Since the Java 6 cert page doesn't say anything about end of life, it seems reasonable to assume the exam will still be offered in a month.

You actually have good timing. For version 7, they split the exam into two exams and charge you double.
