Hi everybody,
I would like to have some clarifications about the following statement taken from this API

NOTE: The class SQLPermission was added in the JavaTM 2 SDK, Standard Edition, version 1.3 release. This class is used to prevent unauthorized access to the logging stream associated with the DriverManager, which may contain information such as table names, column data, and so on.

What do they mean by saying "logging stream"? I am able to read the following "which may contain information such as table names, column data, and so on"" However in practice what is this logging stream they are referring to?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look at the javadoc of the following methods in the DriverManager class: setLogStream, setLogWriter, getLogStream and getLogWriter.

I haven't used this facility myself yet, but it seems that you can use these methods to register a stream or writer that will receive logging information from the JDBC classes (it probably also depends on the individual used JDBC drivers implementing the logging).
