Did anyone used lucene? How to create index?

Hi everyone:
I want to add lucene to my webapp as search.According to lucene's docs,I change "indexLocation" to "C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\luceneweb\\index" in configuration.jsp.It is lucene's index directory.According to the lucene's document,I buit the index successful.But the problem is: It is display "null null" in result.jsp when I input some text in the textbox and click the Search button.It can't find the anything that in the myweb src.Why this? Do I miss some configuration? Please help!

Hi I create index using console successful.But I come across another problem.When I click the "search" button,Search Result Null from Tomcat (NO exceptions , just null)
I'm trying lucene-1.3-rc2.jar .
I index the files from console ( that generated the index dir with the index files
(using dir txts that has lots of txt files ).
then I tried the search (with all the methods in the sample) . It works
But when i tried to made a search or a query by a JSP using Tomcat 4.1.12 it showed me
null values . not even Exceptions about IndexSearcher or a query search. just null .
Document Summary
null null
null null
null null
I'm using the same index dir generated at the console.
