Normally we create servlet extending HttpServlet which will act as a HttpServlet. What are the other ways of creating servlet and what will be the nature of that servlet
and where we can use of that type of srevlet.I think we can make that servlet by extending GenericServlet or implement Servlet.
Please provide me some idea.

Thanks

Why do you want to re-invent the wheel?

HttpServlet will create a servlet supporting http protocol while GenericServlet as the name suggests it's generic and is protocol independent.
