Hi Howard,

If I dont win this book in the promotions I have no way of getting hold of this book. I dont intend to acquire the book from amazon either bcos its going to cost me hell of a lot in native currency. Struts is very popular here and there are tons of struts books to choose from.

Manning has released 'Eclipse in Action, Struts in Action and JSF in Action( impending ) etc in India. But not 'Tapestry in Action'!

Given the fact that lot of s/w work gets done out of my country, dont you think developers here need access to such resources? Is there anything that you can do to address this?

thanks.

Doesn't Manning have it as an E-book available?

Object Oriented Perl was the first book of theirs that I bought. For me, that is one of the classics. Since then I have been a huge fan of manning and thats why it makes me sad that we dont get to access all of their books here.

As a self-supported open-source developer there's only so much I can do. Greg pointed out the timing of the book and the 3.0 release ... I have been spread pretty thin trying to achieve both goals. Now I'm spread equally thin trying to support myself by teaching Tapestry. The point is, I haven't put the same level of effort into the freely available documentation, simply because I can't. The information available via mailing list archives and on the wiki is exploding, and the online documentation is spartan but accurate.

Oops looks like you got me wrong. We dont want this book for free.
My request was if you could persuade manning to release the book here. That's all.

I love Manning's book after purchased SCWCD Exam Kit. However, I have only purchased 2 books overall (another one is Struts in action).

I do feel that, if we can have cheaper e-copies, it would be good for us. I sometimes think whether we should invest in some open source projects, as I sometimes worried that whether these projects will disappear some time later.

For me, 20$ is a bit expensive. If the cost can be reduced to 15$, it will be better.

I also love manning books, I have XDoclet in action, AspectJ in Action and I sometimes have to argue with my collegues because some of them like Oreilly books. I think this books are good , I think it would be a good idea to have access to ebooks that all kinds of pockets could buy, here in South America Bolivia its kinda expensive to buy something for $20.0 , java developers here need to quench their thirst of knowledge by reading just articles online.

I guess I've been abducted by space aliens. So unprofessional. They tried to probe me with this tiny ad:
