Sorry I'm a little late with the list but my wife was admitted to the hospital last night because of a kidney stone. Ouch!

First, a big thanks to Howard for dropping by. I think Howard has really helped improve our understanding of Tapestry and did a great job of answering all our questions. Don't be a stranger, Howard!!!

Second, we will be moving Tapestry to the "Web Application Frameworks" forum where it really belongs.

Finally, the winners are...
Mcgill smith
Chris Norris
Geoff Longman
Looluo Zhu

Congratulations! Send me your snail mail address and I will see that a copy of the book gets sent out to you.

If you didn't win, next week we will be promoting, "JavaServer Faces" by Hans Bergsten. Hans has been to JavaRanch a few times to promote his books and has always been a fantastic guest so we are looking forward to having him.

Ditto. It was good to read about insights from the source.

And Tom, I hope your wife is doing better now. Remember to buy her a nice flower or two

There's a limited number of places I and the Tapestry team can monitor at one time. Tapestry has great support on its mailing lists and uses a Wiki for more involved communications. It's all available at http://jakarta.apache.org/tapestry/

First and foremost, Congrats to all the winners!

Tom, I hope your wife is doing better and that the stone passes without too much discomfort.

Howard, thanks for hanging out this week. You really helped us all understand Tapestry a lot better and I know you've gained at least one fan of the framework in me.

Well, the wiki needs some work. There's 1 link under TipAndTricks. There's like 2 tutorials, 2 articles, 3 gotchas. I may be biased, but Javaranch is good for new technologies. Notice we have updated our Frameworks forum that used to be called Struts and Other Frameworks. It is now Web Application Frameworks and Tapestry is mentioned in the subtitle. I know I'll be asking questions here. I hope you and some of your crew could at least pop-in once in a while and take a look at the questions.

Please choose someone else other than myself for the free book. It was not my intention to be in the running.

I already have a copy.

Cheers,

Geoff

Geoff, thanks for hanging out with us. Hope you and Howard can stop by once in a while or maybe become regulars here. We try to make this a great place for beginners and experts alike to congregate and share knowledge and experience and input from folks like you and Howard is much appreciated. I've already saved a link to your blog so don't be surprised if you hear from me again in the future as I'm going to seriously start looking into Tapestry.

Now, go outside and play with your son like you promised

I promise I'll try and peek in now and again. But its tough as I already monitor 7 mailing lists related to Tapestry/Spindle/Jakarta. And remember that I am but one of many who can answer questions as the Tapestry user list is an eye opening resource. Often useful replies come in great quantity within minutes.

My son Dean & I had wonderful time, especially today as it was his first experience with a sandbox! Amazing, his first reaction was to try and taste the sand. Then he proceeded to make it his calling to empty the box faster than I put the sand back in!

Congratulations to all winners and I did get lots of knowledge from the author as well... Since I am moving my place to a new condominium, I could not participate well in the forum about two days... Anyway, at least I know what the Tapestry is, where it should be used for and what advantages it possesses...

Neato! Tom, I sent you an email to tom@javaranch.com from my work email with my snail mail address. I'll try to check this forum out sometimes to see if I can offer any help. I must say, though, the tapestry mailing list is the best place to get quick help.

Thanks Javaranch!

Thomas is pretty busy with other affairs, these days. So, he might not be responding to all of his email (of which he gets a lot). He is still collecting mailing address information from the four winners of this promotion. After receiving all of the info, or after 30 days have passed from the time of the announcement of the winners, Thomas will forward the mailing address information to the publisher, and update the past winners page to indicate that the request has been sent.
