where the control goes if action returns null

Hi,

Can you please guide where the control goes if we return null from action class ececute in struts1.2 in two cases 1 if the input is there in strutsconfig.xml 2. if the input is not there in strutsconfig.xml

If an action returns null, Struts does not process the request any further and finalizes the response. It does not matter if an input is configured or not.

At a high level, the request is ended and control returns to the container, which returns the request to the browser. I'm afraid I don't know more than that. You can always look at the Struts source.
