Can you use Dynamic Jasper with NetBeans IDE?

I have been tearing my hair out trying to create a dynamic report from a Swing GUI. I need to select the columns at runtime. I am interested in trying Dynamic Jasper but one of the dependencies is this: eclipse jdt-core compiler. That causes me to believe I may have to use Eclipse. I am using NetBeans and have no other choice due to restrictions at work. Thanks!
