This week, we're delighted to have Kees Jan Koster helping to answer questions about
Java-Monitor.
The promotion starts Tuesday, October 15th 2013 and will end on Friday, October 18th 2013.
Kees Jan Koster specializes in performance tuning of large, distributed systems. As an entrepreneur Kees Jan is the founder and driving force behind Java-monitor, now available as a widget in the
Tomcat forum of this site.
Java-monitor was born as a tool to fix some of the problems that jconsole and JMX in general had. It displays the wealth of information that your JVM publishes via JMX in an easy to understand manner. The data is collected outside your JVM, minimising run-time impact and allowing Java-monitor to notify you when your JVM is not longer responsive.
More details and getting started guide can be found here:

As a widget on CodeRanch it is especially useful. If you see a problem that you need help with, Java-monitor makes it easy for you to post a graph into a new forum
thread. No need to make screenshots and futz with uploading attachments. Just click "post" and ask your question.
Winners of this tool promo have a choice between a Java-monitor Kick-start session (normally US$250) or a full year of Java-monitor Platinum for free for 5 JVM's of your choice. And yes, we will be drawing four winners; what a deal.
Please see the
Book Promotion page to ensure your best chances at winning!
Posts in this welcome thread are not eligible for the drawing, and should be reserved for welcoming the author. Questions posted in this topic are subject to removal.
PS. In case you are worried: No, Java-monitor does not have access to the e-mail address you registered with CodeRanch or any other personal information. Only your user name is shared for formatting the notification e-mails.
