6 weeks in the future. It's not too early to start a thread, right?

It's on my mind because this weekend was Comic Con in New York and there were two Doctor Who panels. They didn't say much about the anniversary special other than who wasn't in it. In fact, more information is on wikipedia about it. They did spend a good while on the Big Finish audio special. Apparently, that's a big deal in Britain.

As I was on wikipedia to link to it for the post, I saw they are making both 2D and 3D versions of the special. Interesting.

Since I haven't looked it up, yet, I assume William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and perhaps Jon Pertwee have all passed. I'm looking forward to this special. My Tardis coffee mug still sits on my desk (bought on a PBS special some 25 years ago.)

The emphasis is newer cast members.

I'm so jealous that you got to attend NYCC and the Doctor Who panels.

Here's a good trailer for the "Day of the Doctor".

So Jeanne - Are you going to see this in 3-D on the 23rd (As NYC is one of the places where one can) or just watch on TV?

Watch on tv. I'd rather watch it live than two days later in the movies. And I don't want to see the same episode twice within two days.

And believe it not, it is already sold out in all NYC movie theaters anyway. Tickets went on sale 3 days ago.
