what is the different between Minimum requird sdk and target sdk

when creating android application we have to select Minimum requird sdk and target sdk.
1)what is the different between them?
2)I created application selecting 2.33 for both above.

There is a calender.So i used showDialog(0) method.Anyway when i create new project with

So android says showDialog(0) is Deprecated.So why it says that ?
