Scenario: I have a digitally signed applet (with a self-generated certificate) currrently working fine. We're running some tests with a new proxy software, and with this new proxy when JRE is initialized it gives the error citeed in this topic subject.

Because the only thing that we changed is the proxy, we suppose that there is a different policy regarding access to Internet... my questions are:

- does JRE connects at startup to any external sites, for any reason ?
- does JRE tries and download some external javascript ?

Thank you for your support.

JSCRIP Error?
Can you copy paste the full stack trace?

Thanks for your reply, Maneesh...

There's no stack trace at all. The applet is indeed working (if user press OK button in the broswser alert message ), and I can't see no error trace in java console... the issue arises just after JRE started to execute applet.
It seems that JRE tries and download a remote script which is actually blocked by our proxy server. Indeed, with previous proxy there was no JScript errors.

Thank you for your help.

Do you really mean "JScript", as opposed to "JavaScript"? IE is the only browser that supports that; have you tried another browser?

Yeah, the strange thing is that the error is the same. I'm sorry that I cannot send you a screenshot....
It looks more than an IE error a runtime error of... something.
