What's new in this book? I have the previous version already and I can't see much difference...

There actually are several changes and additions.

--> Every line of code and text was reviewed and improved if possible.
--> As many basic Java 7 features as possible were included (e.g., new exception handling features)
--> Some missing pre-Java-7 basic features were added (e.g., static initializers)
--> All chapters were updated as appropriate (e.g., The "Third Party Tools chapter was revisited to drop out legacy tools, to add new valuable tools and to update all the URLs.)
--> A couple of pages on NIO 2.0 were added as a springboard.
--> Reported errata was incorporated
--> etc.

Note that this book was initially targeted for Java 8, but because of the delay in JDK 8's release, all of the Java 8 features were pulled out of the book and the book was primarily strengthened for the basic features of Java 7 as well as general updates.

Thanks for asking, btw.

Sincerely,
Robert
