Head First Servlets and JSP 2nd Edition, should I buy it?

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
I am considering going for the SCWCD exam, and thinking about getting the 'Head First Servlets and JSP 2nd Edition'. I have a couple of questions:

#1 The 2nd Edition is dated 2008. Is this the latest edition? It seems somewhat old.
#2 The book is 'massive' 800+ pages. Is the exam really that complicated?

Well, if you've read it, perhaps you can help me out!

Thanks

That is the latest edition, but doesn't cover the latest version of the exam: https://coderanch.com/how-to/java/ScwcdLinks. You may find the reviews and discussions regarding the book helpful: https://coderanch.com/t/93812/Book-Reviews/Head-Servlets-JSP-Kathy-Sierra (note that some of that relates to the 1st edition).

Interesting links, the consensus seems to be that 'Head First' is more beginner friendly. I might read it first, have a go at some simple web applications and then read something more up to date and exam appropriate. Thanks(:
