Hi,

I have a remote DB which I am able to access using Putty. How do I use that connection and access the same DB from tools like TOAD / SqlDeveloper.

Please help. Thanks in Advance!!

Putty implements SSH - check the documentation of whatever tool you intend to use whether it supports remote access via SSH.

When connected to PuTTy:

- right click on the top-right corner, and select "Change Settings" or something like that.
- in the window that opens, choose Connection -> SSH -> Tunnels.
- fill in the source port (the port on your local machine, e.g. 1521) and the destination (host:port combination), click Add, click Apply.
- you can now connect to localhost on the source port (e.g. localhost:1521).

You can skip the first step by performing the second and third steps before connecting. You can even include these in a saved session, so the SSH tunnel gets setup every time you connect using that session.
