Seam security:identity authenticate method not found

Hi guys,

I am trying to upgrade a seam 2.2 application to seam 2.3.1 but I am having trouble authenticating.

On my login page I have a button like this :


If I click it the #{authenticator.authenticate} method does not get executed, instead I get the following console output :

no identity store available - please configure an identityStore if identity management is required.
No authentication method defined - please define authenticate-method for <security:identity/> in components.xml



In my components.xml I have defined :



If I replace the log in button with the following :

Then I can see the application successfully retrieve the User from the database...

Can anyone advise me where I am going wrong?
