Hi folks,

I am doing reports with JasperReports. It worked fine for me.

Now the requirement is to generate ad-hoc reports. The user is going to select some specific columns for report. I have done the Filter stuff but how to do projection using JasperReport.

We need to author a .jrxml file before compiling and filling a report, while using JasperReport. All the required columns and report elements like; font face, font size, field types, group, column header, column footer, vertical/horizontal, etc.; need to be defined there in .jrxml file.

How can we design the report at runtime? Couldn't do the same because dont know how many and how much and which columns the user going to select. Forget grouping the records together right now.

Note: Its a web app.
