Hi,
Can someone try to brief me how different technologies are inter-connected?
Example... where does xml fit in the application development?

I would like to know the relationship between below different technologies :
Html
Xml
Java
Servlets
Jsps
Maven
Ant
Hibernate

Please try to share this information with me.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to JavaRanch. I can easily imagine the answer to this question filling a sizeable book. Can you rephrase it in a much more focused way?

I will stop with xml...
What is the advantage of xml? Explain with an example... how tough or tedious it is to achieve a purpose without using xml?

The purpose and usage of XML are still enough to fill a book, I'm afraid. It depends on which "purpose" you're asking about - from a data processing perspective, everything that can be done with XML can also be done without XML, but some technologies are built on top of XML, so if you want to use those, using XML is a given; SOAP web services, for example. Many libraries use XML files for configuration, although that's slowly becoming less common with the use of Java annotations. The Wikipedia article XML is probably not a great starting point for learning, but here are a few introduction and tutorials: http://www.cafeconleche.org/slides/
