Hi folks!,

I am a absolute beginner to ANDROID.

please suggest me friendly resources like books, video tutorials etc.
And what software should i have to develop android.

note: I don't have a android device.

Hello Supun

First things first, you dont require Android Device to start. You can create Emulator (A virtual Android device) and run/test your apps.

The android Developer site is good to start with. You can pick any book, search in Amazon and see ratings , pick the best rated book, i do this....

Coursera has a free intro to android course going on right now. The first assignment is due January 12th, so you can still jump in. It's a bit easy as it assumes you don't yet know Java but the concepts are presented well.

There's another class on the topic starting in late January as well.
