Hi All,
I successfully completed the OCE WSD certification yesterday. Below are preparation materials I used :

1. Java Ranch forum (this is guiding star :-) )
2. Mikalai Z (should not skip on this , it's a must)
3. Up and running (went through it twice)
4. Rest Tutorials from oracle site
5. For security you should also look for wiki.
6. IBM developer site tutorial are another must, they clear your concepts. Should do hands on.
7. ePratize labs (this was useful. I did it after reading through the Up and Running and it gave me lots of idea about what else I need to read). Mock test are must , they are give feeling of real exam).

I postponed exam by 1 week from when I initially planned but was worth doing it.

I never worked on server side of WS so for me it was little difficult to grasp the concepts. It took me around 3 months of rigorous and sporadic preparation.

Thanks MZ for all your guidance and notes. A Sarkar's post in forum were also useful, thanks to him.

There is another link which I referred that was very useful to keep me on track :http://cosminvacaroiu.wordpress.com/2013/06/04/very-technical-presentation-about-1z0-897/

Regards.

Hi Yogendra

Welcome to Javaranch !!

Congrats !! Enjoy the success.

I have query around REST API topic is very huge. Please let me know from where did you read about REST. Is Oracle doc is sufficient for the exam?
Also, from where did you read about EJB?

thanks

Abhay, since beginning I never found REST that difficult so I did the hands on and Oracle tutorials. Other materials like Up and Running , epractice and MZ notes/quiz cover it quite a bit. So I felt it was sufficient.

Basically I had earlier done some Spring REST tutorials so I found the jesery very easy to grasp.

Good luck for your up coming exam in march.

Yogendra, congrats for the exam. I am preparing for this exam too and planning to take it at month end or early Apr.

Could you please list links for the following sources that you mentioned:-
4. Rest Tutorials from oracle site. Is it this one? Java 6 REST
5. For security you should also look for wiki. Not sure which specific sections on security. Just the WS-* specifications at the top level - like WS-Policy, WS-Privacy, WS-Trust, WS-Authentication, WS-Federation, WS-SecureConversation? Or do I need up more details from wiki on security?
6. IBM developer site tutorial are another must, they clear your concepts. Should do hands on. : Link please.

Cheers
