Hi. i have a problem where derby database is not connecting to my application when its deployed as a jar, it works fine in the Jdeveloper ide when its run but nothing happens when i run it from a jar.

i have tried 2 connection methods

im not sure the above is correct .. it connects in the ide with that method

i also tried the the following which also connects fine in jdeveloper but not as a jar

i have included the derby jar and derby client to the library path in jdev.

The error im getting on the second code example DoConnect is driver not suitable driver found for jdbc:derby://localhost:1527/c:users/......

and with the first example doconnect3 the exception message is org.apache.jdbc.embeededdriver.

i dont mind using client or embedded as with the derbyclient i have written code where it opens the startnetworkserver.bat if required .

any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks
