Usually you change it in web.xml of your web app. Default there is 30 mins

Add an entry in the application web.xml file:

<web-app>
<session-config>
<session-timeout>15</session-timeout>
</session-config>
</web-app>

Or programmatically override the session timeout for a particular session.

HttpSession session = request.getSession();
session.setMaxInactiveInterval(10*30);
