I don't understand how this is supposed to host applets - you don't seem to add the applet to the GUI hierarchy, for example. There's also no code that would handle any parameters, so any applet that uses those would not run.

The section "How can I run an applet as an application, and vice-versa?" (and the code that goes along with it) in the https://coderanch.com/how-to/java/AppletsFaq#application may be instructive.

I'm confused - what do reflection or javap have to do with this? The code does not use reflection, nor do I see how reflection would play a useful role in this.

Have you checked out the code I pointed you to? If not, that's what you should start with, particularly the MainFrame class.

I didn't say it. I'm just telling you what this tiny ad said.
