Where will Logger write statements ?

I have following code. In which file will Logger write Log messages ? Where do I specify that file and how do I associate this file with Logger ?

1) With following code, log file is getting generated but its in xml format. How can I get this log file in txt format ? I tried changing Logger.getLogger(Logger.GLOBAL_LOGGER_NAME); to Logger.getLogger("MyLog");
But I am getting same output.

output is as follows
2) Whats the importance of String value "MyLog" in getLogger("MyLog") ?
