Okay, call me stupid, but how do you even show PHP? I have tried the following code, lifted from W3Schools, and I see nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing that I know of. Darn. I guess that means I have to download it and install it, right? The things I do for school amaze me. I just want to write the web page and see it in a browser. How about WebMatrix? Does that work?

A server is needed to process the PHP and turn it into HTML that is sent to the browser.

The Apache Web Server is probably your best bet.

Thank you, Bear. Apparently, I was focused on my php program lab when the grad student explained that to the guys on the other side of the room. We have an apache server I'm supposed to upload the file onto, then look at it through a browser. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I know it was a dumb one, but I have an assignment due Monday and I haven't even gotten started on it due to this hiccup. Thanks for not deleting my question like another site I know of does if they don't feel like answering the question. Thanks again and have a great night.

Besides Apache Web Server, you'll also need a PHP processor and to configure Apache Web Server to use it. The PHP installer for Windows should do that configuration for you during installation provided Apache Web Server is already installed: http://windows.php.net/
