Hi all,

I've been searching in the forum and in Google but the errors I'm getting are not exactly the same. I'm trying to compile this code:

on the String word = “boxes” line I'm getting the "Syntax error on tokens, delete these tokens".

Any ideas on what is triggering this error?

The left and right handed double quotes you are using around your Strings are incorrect. Use a standard non-handed double quote symbol ".

What editor are you using? (Please don't say Word.)

Notepad, but I included those quotes by mistake, when copying from a pdf.

Notepad is nearly as bad, but for different reasons. I have some suggestions here.

Thanks, I've been thinking of going back to vim, or even install Cygwin and use vi. I was very partial to it.

If you are going to use vim, why not install Linux and use a dual‑boot machine

Yes, I've used debian and Cygwin in my XP for years, I'm thinking on going back in a not so far future
