In MZ's notes, there is a quote "The wsgen tool generates JAX-WS portable artifacts used in JAX-WS web service...."
And "any document style service , wrapped or unwrapped requires the kind of artifacts that the wsgen utility produces."

When I try doc/lit/bare, I did not get any jaxws artifact generated from wsgen:

But when I try this doc/lit/wrapped, the wsgen generates these artifacts GetWeather.class, GetWeatherResponse.class, getWeatherByCityNameRequest.class, getWeatherByCityNameResponse.class:

I am wondering if wsgen won't generate any artifact for doc/lit/bare all the time?

Let me answer my own question. From MZ's version 5 notes, I saw a quote "wsgen generates server artifacts, including WSDL..."
From the above post, I guess what it means is doc/lit/bare or doc/lit/wrapped requires the wsgen generated artifacts, which includes the WSDL, not only the request or response wrapper classes.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
