I googled to find out what that "sensitive" keyword was supposed to do, but all I found was articles about whether various aspects of SQL were case-sensitive or not. So could you explain what its purpose is, and perhaps point to a database where it means something?

Never heard anything like that before. Could you please elaborate on what private and public columns mean.

Per your cross post, I see that you read about the "sensitive" keyword in this paper. That paper is for a database prototype, not a real mysql database. It talks about using that keyword for encryption. Databases allow you to encrypt passwords. Is that what you are going for? If not, what are you trying to accomplish?
