Hi,

Pleased to say that I passed the exam with 85% yesterday...very relieved.

I used the Mala Gupta book and was very impressed with it. I had previously been using the Michael Ernest "Java SE7 Programming Essentials" one, but felt that the Mala Gupta one is better.
I also used both Whizlabs and Enthuware. I found both useful, with Enthuware representing better value for money. I averaged about 72% on the
Enthuware scores.

One point about the exam which I didnt think i read elsewhere. There was one question where it asked you to identify what lines of code would
produce a certain output and I wasted precious seconds because I couldnt work it out.

It was only when I re-read the question that i saw the instruction "click on the exhibit tab for code sample" that it made sense. This was the only
question in the whole exam of that type so caught me out. I guess the moral is "read the question thoroughly before attempting to answer".

So...just wondering. For the programmer II exam, does it "build" on top of the 803 exam, or does it test on seperate topics. I would like a bit of a break from this, but if it builds on top, then it
would make sense to go straight into it. Also, it took me about 10 weeks studying pretty much full time to pass the 803...can anyone give me an indication of how long it would
take to pass the 804?

Thanks!

The OCPJP7 will definitely test other (more advanced) topics, but of course you still need to know everything you learned for the OCAJP7 (inheritance, overloading, overriding, control flow, data types,...).

If you needed 10 weeks full time studying for the OCAJP7, you might be looking at half a year to prepare for the OCPJP7 exam. It"s a real challenge, even for an experienced java developer. Also note: there are AFAIK still no study guides available for the OCPJP7 certification.

Good luck!
