for the object arguments in date formatters such as %td, are only calendar objects accepted?

also, the java is giving me the wrong day and time for calendar formatters.
what could be the problem?

Please can you show the code you are using, the output you are expecting and the output you are actually getting

That is not a date formatter, but a time tag in the Formatter class.
You didn't say what wrong format means, but you can find all the details in the Formatter documentation. What does %td mean?
