Just want to make sure -- I've downloaded Mavericks and need to update to Java 7. I came across two sites that have a download (I'm learning how to program) -- the oracle website and java.com. Java.com has java 7 v51, but i'm not sure if that that is the JDK or not. I assume I can go to the oracle website and download the JDK? I've gotten all my downloads previously from the apple website, but Mavericks didn't come with Java at all, so I have to download.

You need the Oracle website. I always find the correct page by Googling for "jdk".

Here's the link: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html

Starting with Java 7, the OS X Java implementation no longer comes from Apple, it now comes from Oracle. What you get from java.com is just the JRE, I believe, so you should head over to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html and get it from there.
