I want to make a project and I need to get into web development fast. So I found grails framework and I want to know do I need to have experience in web development before starting with it?? At least most of the books target this category of people (who used other framework and have experience with spring & hibernate).
I really dont have time to go into understanding java ee and other technologies to begin in my project. So I will be glad If you could direct me, if it is a must to know these stuff or there are other resources I can learn from that give me in parallel the technologies I will use to make a web site + intro to grails framework.
You do not need to know Java EE to use Grails. Rails and grails both target getting a basic web app up fast. I looked at the Grails Tutorials page to see if any target beginners. This one looks promising.
You do need to learn HTML and CSS if you don't know them already.

Grails handles the basics of creating pages and saving data. You do need to learn about security.
If you don't know anything about web apps, you do need to start simple. Which makes a simple tutorial seem appropriate.
While Jeanne is right about not needing to know JEE to work with Grails, I would strongly advise you to learn about Servlets and JSP and general web development. Grails does not stop you from making mistakes. Rushing into a project and creating something without an understanding of the underlying technology is risky business.
Arch enemy? I mean, I don't like you, but I don't think you qualify as "arch enemy". Here, try this tiny ad:
